Time moves at their pace

Meet the Chamarel Giants

A peaceful encounter

Aldabra tortoises in Chamarel

Sheltered under trees, our Tortoise Park is a place for quiet observation. Here, you encounter one of the world’s largest land tortoise species; steady, slow-moving creatures that invite you to reconnect with nature, patience and the unhurried rhythm of life.

Tortoise legacy

The Aldabra species is a cousin of now-extinct native tortoises. In Chamarel, a dedicated nursery supports young individuals as part of long-term care and protection efforts.

Into their World

A habitat made with care

The park is designed to reflect their natural environment: shaded, spacious and calm. Every element, from soil to shelter, supports their wellbeing and slow pace of life. Observation is welcome, always with quiet distance and respect.
